We are doing this for the health and well-being of our clients, hygienists and community to do what we can to stop the spread of this virus. Sidney Dental Hygiene Clinic Announces New Ownership

Sidney, B.C., — January 30, 2017 — Catherine Bescape, owner of Sidney Dental Hygiene Clinic (SDHC) welcomes a new owner for the clinic, Paulette Reid.

Catherine opened the Sidney Dental Hygiene Clinic in Sidney, B.C. 15 years ago. At that time, Catherine was establishing a pioneering effort by opening the second independent dental hygiene clinic in all of Canada. Before Catherine’s clinic, the only option for the general public was to find a dentist first to have dental hygiene services. Catherine paved the way for the public to have more choices.

“I’m very pleased with what I’ve been able to accomplish,” said Catherine Bescape. “Our clients come from all over Vancouver Island and the Gulf Island communities. I’m very excited to introduce Paulette Reid as the new owner. She’s highly competent with 15 years dental hygiene experience. With both a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Science degrees, Paulette truly cares about her clients and has the energy and vision to build on the clinic’s success. I’m confident the community will welcome Paulette as warmly as they did me.”

The state-of-art clinic was ahead of its time then and still is now using the latest in technology, instrumentation and forward-thinking dental hygiene practices. With a broad range of services from cancer screening to mouth guards, the clinic has built a strong reputation for expert-level services and for being a comfortable and relaxed environment. The SDHC took client comfort seriously and made changes to convince even the most apprehensive clients to get their teeth cleaned.

“I am thrilled at the opportunity to be a part of this pioneering clinic,” said Paulette Reid. “Options like this don’t come along every day. I look forward to meeting each and every client and providing them with outstanding oral health services.”

Much of the success has to do with the extensively skilled hygienists who make clients feel comfortable by always being kind and gentle, adding just the right amount of humor. The clinic is a pleasant place to visit with relaxing music, beautiful art on the walls and colourful rooms that add a touch of the sea. Most importantly, each client receives individual custom treatments to meet their specific needs. If needed, dentists, dental specialists as well as periodontists are recommended to clients based on their oral hygiene exams. At the end of a service, clients receive a heavenly spa-like touch - a warm lavender facial cloth. Not your average dental cleaning experience.

Clients can expect the same level of care they’ve been receiving all along. Paulette is eager to help educate the public on the importance of good oral health practices. On the administrative side, the new owner will start with an electronic insurance billing service that will be convenient for clients. All the administrative work will be done by the clinic and the clients will get financially reimbursed more quickly.

Paulette Reid will start in the clinic January 30, 2017. The hygienists currently working at the clinic are all staying on and will continue to provide the high quality oral health services clients have come to expect.

Catherine Bescape has chosen to pursue other entrepreneurial interests. “I enjoyed the 15 years I had at the clinic and I’m proud to have built such a successful business, but there are new directions I would like to pursue. I’m glad to be able to leave the clinic in such good hands,” added Catherine. “I’m still figuring out which direction I’ll take; in the meantime, I know I’ll see my clients in and around beautiful Sidney-by-the Sea and I always look forward to their friendly hello’s and hand waves.”
